Blessed to Be a Blessing

“Good will come to those who are generous and lend freely, who conduct their affairs with justice.”

Psalms 112:5 (NIV)

Reflection

Lately I've been questioning my role in giving back and I'm reminded of the importance of generosity. At 22, I was living in poverty and couldn't even afford basic necessities, but today I ask God if my wealth is being used to help those in need or if I am missing the mark. I believe that God has blessed me with money and opportunity not just for personal gain but to uplift those around me. To bring them out of the hell that I was stuck in for over a decade. Psalm 112:5 highlights the blessing that comes to those who are generous and just. It speaks to me today, reminding me that success is a platform for God's work. Through our resources, God places people in our lives to care for and bless. Let us listen to this truth and respond to His calling with open hearts and hands, ensuring our success reflects His love and justice. Give in abundance to let God's glory shine through to those who are struggling.

Insight

In biblical times, wealth was often seen as a sign of God's favor, yet it came with the responsibility to care for others. The Proverbs and Psalms repeatedly emphasize generosity and justice as key attributes of the righteous. The early church exemplified this through communal sharing, ensuring no one was in need. The significance lies in understanding that God's blessings are tools for His purposes, calling us to act as stewards rather than owners.

Key Takeaway

Our success is not just for us, but a tool to reflect God's love and justice in the world.
